Tolling Of The (School) Bell.

I remember passing by my elementary school during the summer, wondering what the next grade would be like. What will I learn? Who will my teacher be? And perhaps, most importantly, will we play kickball during recess?

Theme Of The Week: Back To School.

August is here and the summer is dwindling. Last-minute vacations are in the works. School supplies are stockpiled on the living room table. New outfits are being planned (and re-planned). In short, the end is near...

Lace Of Cakes.

No offense to the brides and grooms out there, but my favorite wedding moment is typically the eating of the cake. Chocolate is preferred, although red velvet is always a pleasant surprise. Seriously though, what type of cake wouldn't look delicious stacked atop these gorgeous lace cake plates!

Bloody Skulls? I Do.

A few years back, friends of ours surprised us (and other partygoers) by putting on an impromptu Halloween wedding. I'm thinking that these bloody skull lollipops would've been the perfect post-nuptial delight!

Get The Word Out.

Sure, invitations via mail are the wedding standard. But we'd prefer a method that'll scream "do not miss this event!" Pretty sure, this amazing customized wedding poster will do the trick.

Shop Profile: Star House.

It's wedding week, here at Featherette, and today we're looking for handmade cake toppers. Etsy sellers, Star House, who "strive to make wooden folks that are simple and super cute" are topping our shopping list...so to speak.

Custom toppers (with a pet), $180.

We adore their custom cake toppers! And we especially love that they incorporate the entire family (including pets, above) in to the mix!

Custom toppers, 2 adults, 4 children, $310.

And for all the animal lovers out there, they even have custom mascot pairs! Jody and I would opt for bunnies, but these bears are super cute!

Custom mascot pair, $150.

Cycling enthusiasts, have no fear. There's a perfect set of cake toppers for all you commuters out there too!

Custom double bike toppers (with 2 pets), $225.

We couldn't help but notice that a lot of folks were getting married this weekend. And that got us thinking. No, not about getting married (sorry, Mom and Dad), rather, what would a handmade wedding look like?
