On Hiatus.
Attention peeps: we're taking a brief blogging hiatus. Our current format has become a bit stale, so we're going back to the drawing board to come up with something fresh and fantastic. In short, something distinctly, Featherette. Stay tuned!

Treasury Tuesday: "Orange Asphalt", by Eco Shag.
What I love about this treasury is the use of orange and black in a non-Halloween way. Yet, it still feels like a Halloween collection. Brilliantly done, Eco Shag, brilliantly done!

Psycho For Halloween.
I have a Halloween confession to make. Despite my passion for scary movies, I've never actually seen "Psycho". Maybe someone should send me this card, from Creeper Jess, as a reminder.

Like A Bat Outta Hell.
Bats scare me. Perhaps it's their link to vampires--or maybe it's simply their creepy faces! Whatever it is, I don't want their weird wings anywhere near me.
I wouldn't mind this ultra-cute bat print, from LaBerge though. His face isn't creepy, nor his wings weird. In fact, he looks kinda happy. And that's what Halloween is all about.

Halloween Meets The Wizard Of Oz.
We're loving this Etsy front page treasury from Jody, aka, Blackbird Tees. Such a clever mix of Halloween-themed items within the "The Wizard Of Oz" vein. Way to go Jody!

Theme Of The Week: Halloween.
Season 2 of "The Walking Dead" is upon us. And that means it's time to gear up for a barrage of gruesome zombie deaths!
Admittedly, it took us a while to get excited about Halloween. But now, we're officially ready to be scared! So bring on the werewolves, vampires, ghosts and of course, zombies!

New Geometric Wood Organizers In The Etsy Shop!
I'm so darned proud of how these salvaged organizers turned out. The geometric design really pops! Just got 'em all listed in the Etsy shop too. More designs are in the works, so stay tuned.

Geometric Patterns.
Geometric patterns excite me. Perhaps it's the balance between abstract shapes and linear order, or maybe it's the playful repetitiveness. Whatever the reason, these patterns stimulate my eyes and dazzle my brain.

Theme Of The Week: A Geometric Life.
I've always seen the shapes of the world through geometric lenses. To me, straight lines are telephone wires that run forever.
Tiny, repeating triangles are a mathematical fashion accessory as lethal as any tribal weaponry.
Linear doodles on a piece of paper are blueprints for a maze of neighborhood streets, lanes and avenues.
And a repeating series of circles and squares is a bombastic sound system, waiting to shake the foundation.
What do your eyes see when viewing the lines and angles of the modern world?

Urban Foraging.
Seattle is known for recycling and reusing--and more recently, composting. In fact, spotting "free" piles of wood or other unused building materials in a neighbor's front yard is a common sight.
If you're like me, you begin to wonder...what to do with all that free wood...?

Theme Of The Week: Eco-Friendly Finds.
I'm happy to announce that eco-friendly is the new black. And rest assured, it's a water-based, low-VOC black too!
Whether it's salvaged, recycled, repurposed or reusable, we're loving the momentous consumer shift towards eco-friendly goods.
And while we're on the subject, we think this may be the perfect time to change the stigma behind re-gifting.
After all, just because a gift doesn't jive with your taste, doesn't mean it should end up in the storage closet.
This week, we're bringing you our favorite eco-friendly finds. So grab your pencil and paper (just grab a sheet from your recycle bin) and get ready for a week filled with earth-friendly gift ideas!

Designing The Perfect Beer.
We've never homebrewed our own beer. But we appreciate the satisfaction that must come from crafting your very own brew. Surely, it makes the end-of-the-day cold one that much more rewarding.

Fresh Shop: Miniature Trapdoor.
Satellite dishes, mountain men and sponges aren't your typical watercolor inspirations. But that's what we love about Miniature Trapdoor, a fresh Etsy shop out of Brooklyn, New York. Their atypical subjects will certainly have you questioning what's art and what's not. Who knew an electrical socket could be so thought-provoking?

A Taste For Fresh Etsy Shops.
Etsy's "Taste Test" is an excellent way to find the perfect, personalized (...insert any noun here...). Simply pick your favorite items and let Etsy do the rest. The end result is a targeted collection of handmade and vintage goods geared to your specific tastes. Seriously, it's shopping made ridiculously easy.
We take the taste test weekly and love what we find. And better still? Many of our results are often magnificent fresh shops, like these:

Lace Of Cakes.
No offense to the brides and grooms out there, but my favorite wedding moment is typically the eating of the cake. Chocolate is preferred, although red velvet is always a pleasant surprise. Seriously though, what type of cake wouldn't look delicious stacked atop these gorgeous lace cake plates!
