Going Local.

South of the James Farmer's Market, Richmond, VA.

It seems as if farmer's markets are cropping up everywhere. Even my conservative hometown of Richmond, VA now has several thriving farmer's markets. My family and I recently perused the "South of the James" market last weekend. We picked up some artisan pasta, homemade blueberry bread, some yummy coffee and a load of other goodies.

We want to know--do you frequent your local farmer's market? If so, what do you buy? How much do you spend?

Theme Of The Week: It's A Small World.

Let's face it, tiny is cute. Miniature is cute. And for that matter, most things of small stature are cute as well. But there's more to tiny, small and miniature than just plain cuteness.

This week we'll explore the world of all things small. Miniature and tiny are coming along for the ride too.

Theme Of The Week: Bringing The Outside In

"Moss" print, from Bawk Bawk.

Indoor gardening, farmer's markets and an ever-growing surge of handmade creativity has given rise to a growing trend: bringing the outside in. You no longer have to own a house with a yard to cultivate fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables. All you need is a window sill.

This week, we'll discover terrariums, plants, moss, mushrooms, herbs, fruits, vegetables and more--all in the unlikeliest of places, the great indoors.
